Grants for Organizations Serving the Blind and Visually Impaired

The Gladys M. Smith and Jane McCarthy Funds of the Minneapolis Foundation will award grants to organizations serving Minnesotans who are blind or visually impaired. Grants will be given to provide general operating support or to support programs for organizations that teach independent living skills or provide other educational and recreational opportunities. A maximum of $42,398 will be awarded.

Eligibility
Applicants must be…

• 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving the blind and visually impaired, organizations having a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3), or public institutions that work with these communities
• Based in Minnesota, serving Minnesota residents
• Organizations that serve a diverse and inclusive population, and which have staff members who represent the community served

We will not fund

• Requests for religious purposes
• Capital requests
• Re-granting/loans
