Minnesota’s Water
A Call for Bold Ideas and Collective Action
We all know Minnesota’s famous for its lakes – all 14,380 of them! There’s more to our water than just numbers. Our celebrated water bounty now faces escalating demands for immediate action. The Water Project is about getting everyone who cares about our water – leaders in science, academia, government, business, and across our community – to shape bold strategies for sustainability. Our goal is to ensure that every Minnesotan, from Baudette to Bloomington and Warroad to Wayzata, has access to clean, abundant water. But this vision hangs in the balance as water strains under competing demands. We bear a duty with a rapidly closing window to safeguard our water for future generations.
Minnesota is the water state of our nation. Minnesota is the only state where our most defining asset is interwoven with the fabric of human survival. Our story is written in water – it’s our pride, our joy, and a force that attracts the nation’s greatest talents and innovations. We’re bringing together the most committed Minnesotans for The Water Project. We stand at a decisive moment for protecting our water heritage. We need all ideas and voices to continue to build innovative strategies for a fair and sustainable water future. We’ve started on the road, learning with local water heroes and decision-makers (like you!) to co-create innovative strategies for a fair and sustainable water future.
You’ve got the ideas; we’ve got a platform. We stand at a pivotal crossroads for protecting Minnesota’s water future. It doesn’t matter if you’re a water science expert, a community leader, or someone who loves our lakes and rivers – your voice is needed. Join us in preserving the vibrancy and abundance of Minnesota’s waters by informing our priorities along the way. Tell us what you think about water! Fill out this short survey to help us gather bold ideas for collective action.
