Our 2024-2025 grantmaking cycle will focus on youth-led initiatives. Young people bring fresh ideas and energy to the table, and they really get what’s going on in their communities. By backing young leaders working in the Twin Cities, we’re not just investing in the future; we’re also making sure our efforts today are fair and inclusive. Plus, when we support youth-led work, we’re helping build stronger, more connected communities for the long haul.
Fourth
Generation
Fourth Generation is a hands-on experience in philanthropy for rising leaders who care about local issues and want to make a bigger impact.
Impact
Since Fourth Generation started in 2010, members have raised more than $700,000 to address critical issues like mental health, youth homelessness, food justice, affordable housing, place-based disparities, climate justice, economic mobility, education equity, and more. Here’s how it works:
Learn
Members listen to community and learn from experts about a critical local issue while examining the practice of philanthropy.
Share & Connect
Members connect with their peers and community members to broaden their outlooks and learn about the barriers that hold inequities in place.
Collaborate
By pooling contributions, resources, and diverse perspectives, members collaborate to create an accessible and equitable grantmaking process.
